Day Trip by Appellation

Sonoma to Bennett Valley

              Total Trai Miles: 28.9

(Approximately 4.0 hours / Three Wineries)

Bennett Valley lies due west of Kenwood (as the crow flies). It's a sub-appellation of the Sonoma Valley AVA. Bennett Valley is influenced by coastal breezes and occasional fog off the Pacific Ocean so you can expect slightly different flavor profiles. Start the day along the Sonoma Square at Bennett Valley Cellars. As the name implies, all their wine is made from fruit of the estate. Continue up valley to Kenwood Vineyards at the apex of Highway 12 and Warm Springs Road. Kenwood was established in 1906 and produced wine on this property since 1970. Finish the route in Bennett Valley at Matanzas Creek and spend the rest of the afternoon exploring textured gardens, art, bocce ball and spacious picnic grounds along side delicious Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc's.
