Day Trip by Varietal

The Best of Rhone

              Total Trai Miles: 12.2

(Approximately 4.0 hours / Three Wineries)

Rhone varietals are a favorite among many enthusiasts but wine from the Southeastern French region is lessor known within the American mainstream. Lets work on changing that. Start the trail on the Sonoma Square at Jeff Cohn where you'll find an eclectic selection of beautifully crafted small production wines. If you're a fan of cool climate, food friendly Syrah, try MacClaren instead. We're big fans. Continue up valley to the Glen Ellen area and taste through unique and exceptional interpretations of these grapes including the Syrah's at Loxton, blends at Lasetter and the leaner, food friendly wine at Kivelstadt. Now you know what the hype is all about!
