For those unfamiliar, a Bordeaux blend is wine made from two or more traditional Bordeaux varietals including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Typically, Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot is used as the predominant grape while others are added for color structure and body. This trail represents some of Napa's best examples of the traditional French blend including 'Quintessa' at Quintessa, 'Era' at Alpha Omega, 'Profile' at Merryvale and 'Insignia' at Joseph Phelps. These wines are incredible and this day trip experience should not to be missed.
